On 8th May 2024 we were joined by Arts Council England representative Nick Green & Rosey Brown – Grassroots Music Relationship Manager, for the Southwest region over at the Island’s co-working space Building 41 in Cowes.
They provided an insightful presentation on Arts Council’s Grassroots Music Sector funding, which is available to rehearsal and recording studios, promoters, festivals, and venues for live and electronic music performance.
These organisations are vital to the music ecosystem – the people and places that support musicians to hone their craft, test new approaches, develop audiences, and gain crucial experience of live responses to their work.
The Supporting Grassroots Music fund from Arts Council England is open until March 2025 and targeted to support rehearsal and recording studios, promoters, festivals, and venues to bring live and electronic music to the public, and support the development of talent.
The presentation covered:
- An introduction to Arts Council England
- ACE Grassroots funding programme
- Other ACE funds: National Lottery Project Grants, and funding aimed at individual development: Developing your Creative Practice (DYCP)
