Profile
Andy graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 1999 with a First Class Honours (1:1) Degree in Art with a specialisation in Three Dimensional Design. As a Digital Landscape Artist, Andy offers unique originals, sculptures & prints: the process he uses to create art is a little unconventional, using tools and techniques appropriated from 3D & product design. Photographing or sketching around the Isle of Wight, his home, he constructs minimalist, models of the subject and landscape, placing lights and camera, experimenting with various sets to create uniquely evocative shapes, forms & compositions. He pays particular attention to capture that quintessential ‘experience’ of light. Once happy with a set, Andy will render high resolution images, export to other layering software, sometimes using AI, experimenting with various layers, adding brush and pencil work. Andy is the creator & designer of the original Gravity Powered Lamp (GravLight), documented & exhibited widely in the late 1990’s. He initially studied electronics, antenna & satellite (VSAT) systems in the 1980’s and has worked in Education and Information Technology for more the 25 years. Andy is a folk musician (look out for 'Millicent's Favourite'!), New Entrepreneur Scholar & Ambassador and is happy to consider commissions from both private and commercial clients, he welcomes the opportunity to discuss projects of any type.
