Profile
Charlotte graduated with a Textile/Embroidery degree from Manchester Polytechnic in 1991. For nearly a decade she worked as a Textile Artist in Manchester, then London, creating abstract embroidered wall-hangings and fabric collages for galleries, corporate art and hospital art agencies.
During those years she also taught Life Drawing at Manchester Polytechnic and general art and design classes for Bromley Adult Education.
In 2001 Charlotte returned to the Island and turned her focus to fine art painting.
Charlotte's mostly acrylic paintings are a response to the natural beauty of the Isle of Wight, especially its coast, seascapes and landscapes. Her paintings marry sweeping backdrops of ambient colour with intense attention to foreground detail. She also enjoys creating still life, abstract paintings and collage.
Charlotte became a selected member of N.A.P.A. (National Acrylic Painters' Association) in 2015.
She has won First Prize at the IW Landscape Exhibition twice: In 2012 & 2018.
