I love making people laugh which is why many of my books and scripts are funny. Much of my writing is for children but I write for adults too and produce non-fiction as well as fiction. I've had six animation scripts produced for TV and more than 40 books published, including two successful series for children: The Pony-Mad Princess and Amy Wild - Animal Talker.
Many of my books have been translated into other languages, and Amy Wild is particularly popular in Japan. The Japanese editions look beautiful - hardback with dust covers and manga-style illustrations. Confusingly the front cover is the back cover and vice versa because, unlike us, the Japanese read from right to left.
Over the years, I have learned a lot about writing and now enjoy helping other writers develop their skills. In addition to giving talks and workshops, I share some of the methods I use in Plots and Plotting: How to create stories that work. This is the first in what will eventually be a series of jargon-free guides for writers.
