Visual Arts

Technology and human-technology interactions; past and present; chance and control

I am a visual artist fascinated with technology and machines, interactions and storytelling through technology.  My work uses past and present technologies of time-based media, often combined with three dimensional objects or explored through interactive installations. Social commentary is often implicit within it.  Significant pieces have included a Super 8 film kinetic sculpture, a bespoke tracking device with live dancing audience participation, phonograph sound pieces and most recently, an interactive Singer sewing machine with embedded memories.

My BA (Fine Art) was completed at the University of Westminster, and my MA (Fine Art) was at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design.  I was recently awarded an Arts Council England grant for my work Sewing Memories, installed at The D-Day Story museum in Portsmouth, with the ongoing artwork developed through processes of interactive public participation and engagement.
