Ladypat

Visual Arts

I blur digital with tactile in and around pop art spaces. Music videos, plus-size fuzzy felt artwork, GIFs & Snapchat filters are my playground. Simples!

Ladypat's startling and singular Queer Arts career has included 4 billion GIF views, 100+ homespun music videos and a stellar VJ career upending video screens all across Europe. These days his plus-size fuzzy felt pop-art is a hit at galleries across the UK.

Beginning in 2001, Ladypat (a tongue-in-cheek name challenging notions of gender, aristocracy and punctuation) has always utilized technological advances as mediums to develop his twisted pop-art tropes. He started by publishing DIY websites in the pre-social media era of Flash, became a superstar VJ in the golden era of software development and affordable and faster hardware, used the advent of YouTube to accelerate the reach of his irreverent pop promos and reimagined his archive as GIFs for the internet addicts of today. In this way his work has reached hundreds of thousands of hedonists at live events and multi-million playbacks online.

Ladypat pops up in many realms::

- 100 homespun music videos for the likes of Boy George, Adamski and Hifi Sean and Yoko Ono - scoring a million views on his YouTube channel and as seen on BBC, ITV, Pitchfork and CNN!

- VJ residencies at Ministry of Sound London , The Loft Barcelona and Pete Tong Ibiza. Other events include Glastonbury, DC-10 Ibiza, Exit festival Serbia, Creamfields Spain and Russia, Godskitchen. Artists include Fatboy Slim, Lady Gaga, Chase & Status, Hot Chip, Sasha, Mr. Oizo, Vitalic etc etc

- 4 billion GIF views as he trends regularly on Instagram Stories.

- As a gallery artist he has appeared in group shows with Andy Warhol, Derek Jarman and Kraftwerk.
