MarMoo by Amanda Cope

Visual Arts

Mix Media artis for 12 years currently focused on jewellery in recycled materials.

My journey started with a profound realization of the transformative power of art in people's lives. From a young age, I discovered the ability to express my emotions through creativity, thanks to the guidance of Linda during my time in the care system. What began as dark and somber creations blossomed into vibrant displays of color and texture as I grew older. As I navigated through my twenties, I faced daunting health challenges, including brain surgery and a diagnosis of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia. Despite these obstacles, I underwent surgeries and eventually found a home in England, where I met my loving husband, Graham. With his unwavering support, I took a leap of faith and founded MarMoo, turning my passion for creating jewellery and home decor into a thriving career. Even setbacks like a jaw injury and a diagnosis of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome couldn't deter me from pursuing my dreams. With determination and the support of my loved ones, I overcame every hurdle that came my way. Today, I continue to design unique pieces that blend art and jewellery. Art has taught me many lessons and been my savor when I need a place to let go of all the stuff that life throughs at you. Poetry, painting, photography, crafting, jewellery and exploring new ideas that spark an interest are what makes me grow.
