Licensing Illustration

Want to know more about licensing your illustrations or want to commission someone to create illustration artwork, but don’t know what the terms are? One of our network members, Michelle Lott aka MooksGoo have created this brilliant downloadable resource to guide you through – what is quite unknown territory for many!

Did you know… Illustration is one of the fastest growing areas of the creative industries? It tells stories, sells products, and is globally relevant. When you pay for (commission) illustration, you buy a licence and not the work itself. It means you pay for what you need without buying it outright. This is called the licensing model.

This downloadable resource sets out the industry standard for commissioning illustration. If you have questions after reading it, feel free to contact Michelle on: [email protected]

This information is backed by the Association of Illustrators (AOI) – the professional body for the illustration industry – of which Michelle is a member of. AOI are a global leader, based in the UK, with members and partners around the world. They work to ensure a thriving industry today, and in the future.
