We’re really excited to announce that IW Creative Network member Joshua Raffell has been awarded a bursary and group show in August 2023 with A Space Arts, Southampton at Gods House Tower.
After visiting GHT with the network last year on our away day, Joshua applied for their Turning Point Bursary and is creating work to be shown in August. This opportunity is allowing experimental work to developed through 121 mentoring with Mary Cork as well as three group meetings with the other selected artists to create a cohesive and exciting show.
Joshua’s work is looking at the complex memory of childhood and living with a mother who suffers with bi polar and the impact that has on his own mental health. The work may start with self-identity but through the process of making quickly becomes more complex and unrecognisable making the work accessible and engaging to others. Sue Golding “eight technologies of otherness”.
