It’s only one month to go until the Tour of Britain cycle race heads to the Isle of Wight, on Sunday 11th September.
To celebrate the special sporting event visiting us – for the first time ever – the Isle of Wight Council and Visit Wight have launched an Island-wide Land Art competition aimed at all schools, colleges, businesses, farmers, community groups and families.
The tradition of creating land art masterpieces along the race route has long been the practice at the Tour of Britain, as well as other cycle races around the world. With the race being broadcast LIVE on ITV4 and channels around the world, we need your help to show off the Island at its best!
Over half of the Island is an area of outstanding natural beauty and waving the UNSECO Biosphere Reserve banner, there’s so much here to gain inspiration from. So please get involved and show your support, from now until race day on Sunday 11 September.
All winning entries will receive a £50 Wight Gift card that can be redeemed at registered businesses on the Island, both in-store and online!
