On 23rd Jan 2024 we held a theatre tour booking workshop & networking event for IW Theatre companies & makers at the Apollo Theatre in Newport.
Mark Makin from Makin Projects ran a half-day workshop on theatre tour booking and Ginny Graham, theatre Relationship Manager for Arts Council England South West gave a presentation on ACE’s National Lottery Project Grants and Developing Your Creative Practice fund.
Both provided brilliant insights into making a viable touring show, getting to the heart of a project and the different requirements for under £30k, over £30k and touring project grant applications.
Ginny has provided a series of downloadable resources from ACE as well as some very useful links:
- guidance on how to apply for National Lottery Project Grants under £30k and £30,001 – £100,000.
- guidance on how to apply for Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP)
- information sheet on touring projects
- information about what access support is available.
All these and more can be found on the ACE website for Developing Your Creative Practice and National Lottery Project Grants.
There are information sheets on their website for different types of projects (children and young people, touring, building projects, research & development etc).
ACE’s Investment Principles resource hub also has a lot more information on the investment principles, which might be useful when applying for £30,000 or over.
If you’re an IW theatre maker/company and interested in coming to future workshops and networking events, then make sure to join the IW Creative Network and get a whole heap of other benefits too!
