Photographers Networking Event

Come along to our first networking event for creatives working in the field of photography – both traditional and digital processes. Visual artists and videographers also very much welcome.

Thursday 25th April 2024, 5-7pm, FREE
Dimbola Museum & Galleries, Freshwater

We’ll come together in the historic Dimbola Lodge – the home of pioneering Victorian female Photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron. For 15 years between 1860 to 1875, Dimbola was Julia’s home and workplace. It is now preserved by the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust and open to the public with gallery spaces, museum, gift shop, and tea room. Recent Artist in Residence George Budden will join us to talk about his sustainable workshop series (Arts Council supported), which took place earlier last year at Dimbola. George is a visual artist, curator, and workshop facilitator. Though he maintains a strong arts practice, rooted primarily in photography and alternative processes, his recent professional work has taken on the form of workshops, project management and curation. George works as a curator, workshop facilitator and event producer for Riposte London, a queer arts techno party and community. His residency at Dimbola last year enabled access to the darkroom and other facilities, engage with young people from across the Island to alternative photography processes.
